Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Environment has been promoting the development of the green tourism destination “Te Teuk Phu” in the Ko Dounty Nature Conservation Area Community, Trapeang Chor Commune, Oral District, Kampong Speu Province to improve the livelihoods of local communities by attracting tourists to relax and strengthen the sustainable management of the nature conservation area system.

During a meeting with the community and local administration, as well as stakeholders, on the Te Teuk Phu Green Recreation Area Development Project infrastructure development project on August 7, 2026, Dr. Eang Sophallet, Minister of Environment, said that the project aims to strengthen the natural resource protection area system in the area, help increase the income and livelihood of people in the community by creating an attractive green natural recreation area, following the success of the Green Recreation Area Development Project in Phnom Knang Phsar.

Please note that in the past, Samdech Thibati Hun Manet and Her Excellency Dr. Pech Chanmony Hun Manet have provided local infrastructure construction, including providing solar lights to 303 families in the community.

In the near future, the Ministry of Environment will implement the Green Tourism Development Project, focusing on providing the community with entrepreneurs, ownership, and leadership to provide better tourism services that help improve the livelihoods of the community in a sustainable manner. The green development area of Te Teuk Phu has already been surveyed by experts, marked out the boundaries of the development area, and prepared a plan for building green infrastructure.
