Phnom Penh: Unions and analysts in Cambodia see the illegal mobilization of voters to register and run for election to elect representatives abroad as a deliberate act of injustice, aimed at destroying the country and for personal gain (money), which all Cambodians should not participate in.
Dr. Yang Pov, a geopolitics expert at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said that establishing a Cambodian government abroad or registering to vote for representatives abroad is not in accordance with the constitution and the actual situation in Cambodia. Not only that, that act is destroying peace and adding to the crisis in the country while Cambodia is being invaded by the Thai military.
He said: “Any group that wants to establish a government in exile or a government abroad is illegal and against the constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and it has also destroyed the peace and security of Cambodia.”
According to the doctor, at this time, all politicians should not act to cause division and further increase the crisis in the country, because at this time Cambodia is being invaded by the Thai military and is suffering from a crisis due to the loss of the global order of the world.
Mr. Sam Soeun, President of the National Union of Workers of Cambodia, saw that the opposition movement in mobilizing citizens to register And running for office by the opposition is another new method of collecting money from supporters. He said this is illegal and selfish, as the opposition only creates various activities to collect benefits from supporters, which do not provide any benefit to the participants.
He said: “This is another method of mobilizing and collecting money from their few remaining supporters, and the group always does the same thing from one stage to another for their own personal benefit, and organizing matches, selecting candidates for elections, and selecting representatives abroad is completely illegal.”
