Battambang: On the evening of April 29, 2026, a landmine explosion killed a farmer on his own farmland due to remnants of war in Ratan Mondul district, Battambang province.
According to Mr. Heng’s Facebook page Ratana, the Royal Government Delegate in Charge of the General Director of CMAC, said that on the evening of April 29, 2026, there was an explosion of a landmine left over from the 1980s-1990s war, killing a man driving a tractor and completely damaging the tractor.
The same source continued that the war has been over for nearly 30 years, but the remnants of war munitions are still scattered, causing injuries and deaths. The explosion occurred in Teuk Sap village, Sate Meas commune, Ratan Mondul district, Battambang province.
