Phnom Penh: The Court of Appeal has decided to uphold the verdict of the first court in the case of Mr. Kem Sokha, not allowing him to leave the country for 5 years.
Mr. Puy Kea, president of the Cambodian Journalists’ Club, who attended the hearing in person on the morning of April 30, told reporters that the Court of Appeal announced the verdict by upholding the verdict of the first court in the case of Mr. Kem Sokha and not allowing him to leave the country for 5 years.
Please note that Mr. Kem Sokha, who was sentenced to 27 years of house arrest since 2023, was sentenced by the Court of Appeal on the morning of April 30 after the Phnom Penh Court of Appeal held a hearing on the oral arguments on April 8.
