Sihanoukville: Mr. Peng Purna, Minister of Public Works and Transport, said that as of the first quarter of 2026, the volume of goods passing through the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port has increased sharply, achieving a growth of 38% compared to the same period in 2025.

The remarks of Minister Peng Purna on the occasion of attending a meeting with civil servants, staff, and workers of the Preah Sihanouk Autonomous Port under the chairmanship of His Majesty the King Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on May 1, 2026 in Preah Sihanouk Province.
The Minister added that through the development of key supporting infrastructure Including the efforts of the port’s leaders, staff, and workers, in 2025, the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port achieved a total container throughput of more than 1.34 million TEUs, an increase of 30.57%, and a total business revenue of more than 155.36 million US dollars, an increase of 35.30% compared to the same period in 2024.
At the same time, the number of ships passing through the port was 1,775, an increase of 13.35%, but the ship’s carrying capacity was up to 26.12 million tons, an increase of 29.27%, and the volume of goods passing through was 12.32 million tons, an increase of 25.78%.
The Minister emphasized that, “In particular, as of the first quarter of 2026, the volume of goods passing through the port has increased dramatically, achieving a growth of 38% Compared to the same period in 2025. At the same time, the port is also considering additional emergency measures to respond to container growth for 2026 at a time when port capacity is also limited.
