Phnom Penh: Minister of Tourism Huot Hak said that traveling by train, tourists and travelers get three wonderful experiences: “famous Cambodian hospitality – smiles, beautiful green landscapes, Cambodia’s unspoiled beauty and safe Japanese technology.”

Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism and Mr. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, and their colleagues were invited to conduct a study tour and learn about the potential of train travel from Phnom Penh to Kampot province, accompanied by representatives of Royal Railway Cambodia.

During the important visit, the Minister The Ambassador and the Minister of Transport visited the train and took a ride on the train, praising and appreciating the company’s excellent preparation and first-class experience of Japan’s Kiha Railway, as well as the Phnom Penh Railway Station, a heritage building built during the French colonial period in the 1930s.

Speaking on this occasion, the Minister also thanked Oknha Kith Meng and Royal Railway Company, which provided excellent cooperation in this study tour and provided transportation services for national and international tourists and travelers of all nationalities so far.

Meanwhile, the Minister encouraged Cambodians and international tourists to try the experience of traveling by train, which can help reduce fuel consumption and provide opportunities to admire the beautiful green scenery. It is like a painting from heaven on the road, especially in this green season.

It should be noted that the Cambodian railway network, operated by Royal Railway Cambodia, has two main lines, including the northern railway line (Phnom Penh-Poipet) passing through Pursat and Battambang provinces, and the southern railway line (Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville) passing through Takeo and Kampot provinces, which is the main line. To connect Phnom Penh to the coastal areas and other major tourist destinations.
