Minister of Health: Quality accreditation is a mechanism for providing health services

Phnom Penh: Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, said that quality accreditation is a quality mechanism for health service delivery that ensures sustainability, strengthens work culture, and ensures quality, safety, and professional ethics.

Professor Chheang Ra’s remarks were made during the second meeting of the Health Care Quality Accreditation Committee (HCAC) of the Ministry of Health to review, discuss, and approve and use a number of documents for the committee’s trip on May 12, 2026.

Professor Chheang Ra said that the meeting aimed to review, discuss and approve the update of the quality accreditation standards for hospitals and health centers to be used for quality assessment for public and private hospitals and health centers, and the draft 5-year strategic plan (2026-2030) of the National Health Commission of Cambodia. and some draft documents for the NCSC process.

The Minister added that the hospital and health center quality recognition standards will be implemented in the public and private sectors throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia to help improve the capacity of health facilities to provide quality, safe services. and build public confidence in the national health system.
