Kandal: On May 13, 2026, His Excellency Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in Charge of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), visited and met with farmers in Kien Svay District, Kandal Province.

The meeting and greeting ceremony with the farmers was also attended by Mr. Khon Serey Ratha, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province, officials from the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Deputy Governor of Kien Svay District, commune chiefs and commune agricultural officials, as well as a total of 565 farmers.

Dr. Kao Thach said on the occasion that today’s meeting has the biggest purpose of introducing the Techo Farmers Network Association, a new association, to our fellow farmers. In this regard, the association will help facilitate farmers by serving as a bridge to transfer agricultural products produced by farmers and connect them to the market, including technical, marketing, financing, and as an umbrella or mechanism to protect against any abuse.

On that occasion, Dr. Delegate reminded that Cambodia cannot escape the agricultural sector. At a time when the world is losing order, what we are concerned about is domestic food security, including the agricultural sector, because the agricultural sector is the food that is linked to everyone’s life, so we must make every effort, both investing in agriculture as a core occupation and a rice cooker for the entire country, including the world.

The doctor said that every difficulty and challenge is a great opportunity for the agricultural sector, which needs to increase production to supply domestically instead of importing, while the world is facing a food shortage due to natural disasters. The price of fuel and fertilizers has increased, causing the cost of production in the agricultural sector to soar.

Around the above issue Dr. Dangpham advised farmers that due to the increase in the price of chemical fertilizers, farmers should produce their own natural fertilizers and compost in the community to ensure the quality and safety of local products for consumers.

In addition, to solve the problems in the agricultural sector where farmers produce but have no market, His Excellency Dr. Dangpham recommended that The Techo Farmers Network Association has important roles such as serving as a strong bridge, an important link for farmers to achieve sustainable development and connect to financial sources (credit), connecting to techniques, markets and experts to help farmers access modern agricultural technologies.

In addition, connecting to the agricultural market price Provide clear market information and help facilitate the sale of agricultural products, ensuring farmers can sell at good and reasonable prices, avoiding price suppression. In raising issues, concerns, and suggestions, especially marketing issues, to relevant leaders and authorities to find timely solutions.
