Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia said that Cambodia is ready to continue strengthening and seeking new opportunities in cooperation with Singapore.

The Prime Minister’s statement Hun Manet was held on the occasion of allowing Mr. Pang Chee Wee, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Cambodia, and his colleagues to pay a courtesy call and discuss work at the Peace Palace on May 13, 2026.

The Ambassador is committed to and strives to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation in many important areas to further strengthen and grow. The Ambassador also spoke about continuing to promote cooperation in priority sectors, including: food and agricultural products, with a focus on exports to the Singapore market, cooperation in logistics and connectivity, and technical and vocational training (TVET).

The Ambassador further highlighted that Singapore considers Cambodia’s young workforce to be a workforce with high potential and job opportunities in Singapore. At the same time, Mr. Pang Chee Wee also mentioned the continued good cooperation with the ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia regarding capacity building through training and providing technical skills to civil servants in the ministries and institutions of Cambodia.
In response, the King expressed his congratulations to His Excellency Pang Chee Wee who was appointed as the new ambassador and expressed his strong confidence that during His Excellency’s diplomatic mandate, bilateral relations and cooperation will further deepen.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the good friendship and cooperation in many sectors between the two countries and highlighted that Cambodia is ready to continue strengthening and seeking new opportunities in cooperation with Singapore, both in the bilateral and regional frameworks.
Regarding cooperation in the TVET sector, the Prime Minister highly appreciated this good cooperation and highlighted that the Royal Government of Cambodia has assigned the tasks to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training to prepare and implement programs “New Education Path” aims to provide vocational guidance and technical skills to youth and high school students according to their personal aptitudes and skills to meet current and future job market needs.

In addition, His Excellency and Ambassador They also discussed continuing to promote cooperation in other key areas, including trade and investment, national defense and security, energy, health, biodiversity conservation and natural tourism, etc.
