Preah Vihear Province: In order to improve living standards and transform temporary shelter areas into production areas, on May 13, 2026, leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Preah Vihear Provincial Administration met and directly promoted new agricultural projects to refugees living along the border.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Khim Finan, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Director of the Cambodian Agricultural Diversification Project (CASDP), along with

Mr. Kim Rithy, Governor of Preah Vihear Provincial Government, at the temporary shelter site Ta Keong Phong Village, Thmey Commune, Kulen District.

The project introduced techniques and support to refugees in raising chickens, an occupation with high market potential and easy to manage as a family to generate additional daily income.

Mr. Khim Finan highlighted the importance of organizing into a modern agricultural community. This is a new mechanism that helps farmers have access to capital, clear markets, and modern technology to reduce risk and increase profits.

His Excellency Kim Rithy emphasized that the visit to this location shows great concern for the well-being of people in remote areas and temporary shelters. Without leaving anyone behind.

The Ministry of Agriculture wants the people of this region to change from conventional farming to professional farmers with joint management, clear production plans according to market needs, and resilience to climate change.

This action not only helps solve the problems facing refugees, but is a long-term strategy to develop the border region into a strong economic belt through modern agriculture.
