Phnom Penh: The Cambodian Embassy in the Republic of Korea confirms that mangoes with the brand name “Romdoul” being sold on the Korean market are indeed 100% Cambodian in origin and are imported and distributed by Hyundai Agro (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. .

The company is a subsidiary of the international Hyundai Corporation of the Republic of Korea, which has invested in Cambodia.

The statement by the Cambodian Embassy in the Republic of Korea came after a series of text and video messages were posted, arguing over the origin of Romdoul mangoes and the use of Cambodian origin labels on Thai products.

Regarding this case, the Cambodian Embassy in the Republic of Korea issued a statement on May 20, 2026 that the Romdoul mangoes being sold on the Korean market are indeed 100% Cambodian in origin.

The statement continued that regarding the case of using a Cambodian product label on Thai mangoes, the Embassy dispatched the Commercial Attaché to the Embassy to investigate and reach the location of the mart where the mango products were sold. As a result, the mart owner admitted that in the past, there was indeed a mistake in labeling the product as Cambodian on Thai mangoes, but it has been corrected. The Commercial Attaché also advised and warned mart owners to be careful and avoid misrepresenting the origin as Cambodian products, which may lead to legal action.
The Embassy of Cambodia in the Republic of Korea calls on sellers and distributors of goods to avoid misrepresenting the origin of goods, especially misrepresenting the product as Cambodian, which may face legal liability. Meanwhile, in case of doubt or encountering fraud regarding the origin of goods as Cambodian products, you can report it to the Cambodian Embassy in the Republic of Korea.
