Phnom Penh: Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, opened a high-level roundtable meeting on “ASEAN’s Sustainable Tourism Investment and Resilience Vision 2030” organized by the Asian Development Bank in Cambodia (ADB) to discuss investment priorities in the tourism sector, improving the investment climate, and promoting sustainable tourism development in Cambodia and the ASEAN region, with the participation of Ms. YASMIN SIDDIQI, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Cambodia.

At a high-level and important consultation meeting to exchange views and explore new opportunities for investment in sustainable and resilient tourism on May 19, 2026, the Minister highlighted that Cambodia has rich tourism potential in terms of culture, history, nature and green tourism that can respond to current global tourism trends.

At the same time, Cambodia is also continuing to develop its infrastructure to be more integrated and increase connectivity, providing convenience and saving time to attract international investors and tourists.

In this regard, the Minister also mentioned the “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” campaign, which is to promote tourism during the rainy season and showcase Cambodia’s natural beauty, in line with the six-point slogan: Must See, Must Stay Must taste, must see, must try and must buy to provide new experiences to tourists and continue to enhance the attractiveness of Cambodia’s tourist destinations that can be visited in all seasons.

The Minister also emphasized that investment in the tourism sector not only contributes to economic growth, but is also an important factor in creating jobs, improving people’s livelihoods, and supporting sustainable local community development, in line with the Cambodia and ASEAN Tourism Development Vision 2030.
