People’s Party Leader: Cambodian territory belongs to all citizens

Phnom Penh: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, leader of the Cambodian People’s Party, said that Cambodia’s territory does not belong to anyone, but to all of them.
At a press conference to present the results of the meeting between the 29 coalition parties in the presence of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Mr. Chea Thirith, spokesperson for the Cambodian People’s Party, said that Cambodia’s territory belongs to all Cambodian people.

He said, “The leader of the Cambodian People’s Party, Samdech Techo, has once again stated that Cambodia’s territory does not belong to any party, to anyone or to any group, but to all of us. It belongs to all parties, to all of the people.”

The spokesperson quoted Samdech Techo as saying that only with territory can there be diverse political parties that have been formed that have implemented the current liberal multi-party democracy. Therefore, the alliance of 29 political parties has united to protect the territorial integrity as stipulated in the agreement.

According to Mr. Chea Thirith, the 29 coalition parties have supported the Royal Government in resolving the border dispute with the Thai side peacefully based on the principles of international law.
