Kampong Chhnang-Svay Rieng: On the afternoon of May 23, in addition to helping coordinate at the scene and at the hospital, Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, and the leadership of the Ministry of Labor invited the leadership of the Ministry to pay tribute to the remains of the 14 workers who died in a tragic traffic accident in Kampong Tra Lach District, Kampong Chhnang Province and Svay Rieng City, Svay Rieng Province.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, Mr. Sun Mesa, emphasized that this personal tribute is the attention of the government that is always close to the people as well as the workers, and this is also a sorrowful sharing with the families of the deceased.
Please note that two traffic accidents that occurred simultaneously on the morning of May 23, 2026 in Kampong Chhnang Province and Svay Rieng Province, causing a total of 93 workers (74 women) to be injured, including 14 deaths (10 women), 15 serious injuries (12 women), and 64 minor injuries (52 women).
Mr. Sun Mesa also called for strict compliance with traffic laws to avoid serious traffic accidents that befall our workers. At the same time, the ministry’s leadership will organize the funeral and guarantee all funeral expenses of the workers.
