Phnom Penh: Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, Mr. Sun Mesa, said that until 7 p.m. on May 23, 2026, experts from the Ministry of Labor were still present at hospitals where workers were injured in horrific traffic accidents in Kampong Tra Lach District, Kampong Chhnang Province, and Svay Rieng City, Svay Rieng Province.
Mr. Sun Mesa said: “Until now, specialized officers, especially the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training’s B.S.S. officers, are still present at the hospital to help coordinate with the doctors and relatives of the injured workers who are receiving treatment at Calmette Hospital, Techo Santepheap National Hospital, and Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital, Preah Kosom, until they recover.”
Please note that two traffic accidents that occurred simultaneously on the morning of May 23, 2026 in Kampong Chhnang and Svay Rieng provinces resulted in a total of 93 workers (74 women) injured, including 14 deaths (10 women), 15 serious injuries (12 women), and 64 minor injuries (52 women).
At the same time, he urged strict compliance with traffic laws to avoid serious traffic accidents that befall our workers. At the same time, the ministry’s leadership will organize the funeral and guarantee all expenses for the workers’ funeral.
