Phnom Penh: Royal Government Spokesperson Pen Bona said that combating online scams is the strongest will and commitment of the Royal Government and top leaders.

In a statement on the Cambodia-Thailand border situation on May 25, 2026, Pen Bona said that the Royal Government has a strong will, accompanied by firm measures and a clear legal framework, to suppress online scams.

He said “Combating online scams is the strongest will and commitment of the Royal Government and top leaders, namely both Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, and Samdech Thip Dei Hun Manet, Prime Minister “They have all shown the highest determination and the most decisive measures against online scams to enhance Cambodia’s good reputation on the international stage, as well as to eliminate the concerns of foreign investors and tourists.”

He emphasized that therefore, no obstacles can hinder the operations of the Royal Government and the strong will of the Cambodian leadership.

In fact, according to the spokesman, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the acting head of state, considered the cleaning up of the technology scam group as a necessary task that must be continued until it is completely eliminated, because this group has come to hide in Cambodia and has seriously damaged the image and dignity of Cambodia. Prime Minister Hun Sen has once again issued strict orders to local authorities to combat cybercrime until it is eradicated from Cambodia, without delay or exception.
