Phnom Penh: Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, highlighted that the partnership of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with the Ministry of Tourism has successfully achieved many important development projects to serve the ecotourism sector, create jobs and contribute to the development of sustainable tourism.

Mr. Huot Hak’s remarks during a ministerial-level working meeting and exchange of views with a high-level delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Ms. Lisa Wright, Regional Executive Director, on cooperation in the tourism sector on May 25, 2026.

During this meeting, Minister Huot Hak highly appreciated and expressed his deep gratitude to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and its leadership for always supporting and actively participating in cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia in all mandates, starting from the mandate under the wise leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and continuing to Samdech Maha President Hun Manet.

The Minister also expressed his gratitude for the partnership, especially that of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with the Ministry of Tourism, which has successfully completed many important development projects to serve the ecotourism sector, create jobs, and contribute to the development of a sustainable, resilient, and environmentally friendly tourism sector. This is evident in the international tourist port in Kampot province, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Hun Sen in April 2025.

Recently, the Ministry of Tourism has also received additional new development projects from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on special tourism projects and in a large amount of money that will help restore and build supporting infrastructure for the tourism sector in key provinces that are tourism destinations to help boost livelihoods and create local jobs and further preserve the area.
