Police uncover 5 locations in Phnom Penh stockpiling goods and frozen products imported from Thailand

Phnom Penh: Ms. Daw Samphor, spokesperson for the Phnom Penh Administration, said that during an inspection of 33 locations in Phnom Penh on June 12, 2026, joint authorities found 5 locations with warehouses of goods and frozen products imported from Thailand.

The five locations include: 1. A meat and frozen product warehouse with the CSPB (CAMBODIA) brand located on concrete road, Phum Thmey, Sangkat Dangkor, Khan Dangkor, where 12 types of meat and animal products were found, imported from Thailand, including: – marinated chicken wings – marinated pepper chicken wings – chicken thighs – chicken meatballs – long and short chicken legs – chicken thighs – ham – marinated chicken breasts – chicken fillets and 25 refrigerators.

2. The frozen meatball storage location is located at 283 Mao Tsetung Street, Phsar Deum Kor Sangkat, and a total of 21 frozen meatballs, equivalent to more than 1,200 kilograms, were found, which were illegally imported from Thailand.

3. Two large warehouses with the same owner, located along Road 598, Sangkat Chrang Chamret 2, Khan Russey Keo, are suspected of importing frozen goods from Thailand. During the actual inspection, the joint forces did not find any frozen goods, but they found many products imported from Thailand that were suspected of being involved in the illegal import, storage, circulation, and distribution of products originating from Thailand.

4. Warehouse No. 63, owned by LUX Company, is located in Tapong Village, Snor Sangkat, Kambol District. Upon physical inspection, it was found that there were two meat freezers containing two types of frozen meat, weighing a total of nearly 30 tons. According to inquiries and confirmation from the warehouse owner’s representative, the two types of frozen meat were produced in Brazil and Canada, with two reference documents: (1) a purchase and sale invoice and a shipment to Hong Kong and a certificate confirming the quality of the meat, but there are no documents confirming the clear source of import yet. With the coordination and agreement of the Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, the joint working group decided to temporarily close the two freezers, waiting for the owner to find relevant documents to clarify at the General Department of the Anti-Corruption Commission, for an additional 1 week.

The spokeswoman also confirmed that As a result of the operation on June 12, the authorities decided to temporarily close the above-mentioned five warehouses and freezers and decided to bring the owners and managers of the five warehouses for further questioning at the Economic Crimes Office of the Phnom Penh Police Department in accordance with legal procedures.
