This important meeting is a clear demonstration of the commitment and shared vision towards sustainable development, closely linking the work of the Ministry of Health to the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Pentagon Strategy-Phase 1 and the ADB’s Country Partnership Strategy.

Through their close cooperation, the Royal Government of Cambodia and ADB have made significant contributions to transforming the face of the national health security system. These developments are the result of the government’s high attention to increasing investment in the health sector and the ministry’s ability to implement projects efficiently and transparently by modernizing referral hospitals, strengthening laboratories, and expanding emergency care networks across the country.

For the next step, the Ministry of Health is preparing a sharp strategic plan To ensure that ADB’s investments directly benefit people by achieving universal health coverage (UHC), focusing on key areas including: building climate-resilient infrastructure, modernizing digital health, and promoting health equity in border areas.

The Ministry of Health considers the Asian Development Bank Not only as a development partner, but also as an indispensable strategic partner in protecting the well-being of the people from infectious diseases and threats to build strong human resources towards achieving Cambodia’s vision of a high-income country in the future.
