Cambodia denies fake news about closing Cambodian airports and banning foreign travelers

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia has completely denied the fabrication of fake news about the closure of air ports entering Cambodia and the ban on all foreign passengers under the age of 40.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Interior on May 26, 2026, it was stated that on May 25, 2026, there was a post on the social media platform We Chat that Cambodia’s international airport had temporarily closed all entry to the country and restricted land border crossings from May 26, 2026, and banned all foreign passengers under the age of 40, whether male or female, regardless of visa or business document.

The Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia has completely denied the fabrication of fake news and considers these posts to be slander, distortion of the truth, leading to confusion among international public opinion, damaging Cambodia’s reputation. As a state that does not discriminate against any race in international relations.

The Ministry of Interior would like to point out that the Cambodian Immigration Police has no restrictive policy prohibiting legal foreigners under the age of 40 from entering Cambodia. That is, all categories of foreigners who meet all the correct conditions are warmly welcomed by Cambodia, especially foreign tourists, investors, businessmen, traders, and other foreign workers.

In fact, Cambodia has provided a trial visa exemption to Chinese citizens, allowing a stay of 14 days during a 4-month period, which will be implemented from June 15 to October 15, 2026.

Once again, the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia would like to point out that at major international border police stations in Cambodia, both by air and land, The process of completing entry and exit procedures is proceeding normally, meaning there are no changes that would hinder the entry and exit of foreigners to Cambodia, as has been rumored.
