Mondulkiri: The Mondulkiri Provincial Administration will hold an inauguration ceremony for the new Governor of the Mondulkiri Provincial Government and the Commissioner of the Mondulkiri Provincial Police on the morning of May 28, 2026, at the Mondulkiri Provincial Hall, under the chairmanship of Mr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.

According to the published program, the ceremony will take place from 8:00 a.m. with a welcoming ceremony for the presidency, distinguished guests, civil servants, and armed forces from many relevant institutions.

A letter from the Mondulkiri Provincial Administration also stated that Mr. Thong Savun, Governor of Mondulkiri Province, will deliver a welcoming speech and read a report to the presidency. Mr. Suos Prathana, Director General of the General Department of Administration of the Ministry of Interior, read the royal decree appointing the new Mondulkiri provincial governor. In addition, General Sar Thet, Commissioner General of the National Police, presented the sub-decree of appointment and the seal of the provincial police commissioner to the new commissioner.

Regarding the announcement of the new position, according to the royal decree and sub-decree, Mr. Thong Savun, Governor of Mondulkiri Province, has been transferred to the position of Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior, replacing Mr. Kong Kimny, Deputy Governor of Kratie Province, as Governor of Mondulkiri Province. Meanwhile, Major General Lor Sokha was recently dismissed and replaced by an official from the Ministry of Interior.

The Mondulkiri provincial administration letter that organized the inauguration ceremony, based on official documents, did not reveal the names of the officials who will take up the new positions yet, while the public and local officials are waiting to follow up on additional official information.
