Cambodian Ambassador meets with Korean Food Research Institute manager to discuss food processing

Phnom Penh: Mr. Khuon Phon Rattanak, Ambassador of Cambodia to the Republic of Korea, on the morning of June 1, 2026, received a courtesy call and discussed work with Ms. JUNG Kyung Hee, Manager of the Korean Food Research Institute at the Cambodian Embassy in Seoul, focusing on food processing.

During the meeting, Ms. JUNG Kyung Hee updated the Ambassador on the progress of the cooperation project between the Korea Food Research Institute and the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Cambodia, where the two institutions have been implementing joint projects on strengthening the capacity of civil servants and SMEs in food processing since 2018 and built and inaugurated the Cambodia-Korea Food Processing Center TASK in Cambodia in August 2025.

She requested the embassy to continue to provide cooperation on future projects of Cambodian public-private institutions and institutes.

The Ambassador thanked the Institute for its contribution in helping to train Cambodian professionals and SMEs, which will help increase production capacity and raise the standards of Cambodian products to meet export requirements abroad, especially Korea.

The ambassador stated that the embassy is ready to cooperate on the institute’s future projects.
