Phnom Penh: Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak, Ambassador of Cambodia to the Republic of Korea, and the Director of Soonchunhyang Hospital of the Republic of Korea have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide healthcare services to enable people living in South Korea to receive better healthcare services.

The signing ceremony of the MOU was held on June 2, 2026 at Soonchunhyang Hospital in Seoul.
The MOU aims to ensure that Cambodian citizens living in Korea can access quality healthcare services at affordable prices and is a mechanism for the two institutions to continue to work together as neighbors and close partners in humanitarian missions to serve the interests of the Cambodian people both in Cambodia and Korea.

Dr. Suh You-Sung, director of Soonchunhyang Hospital, said his hospital began its mission in Cambodia in 2002. Over the past 24 years, the hospital has contributed greatly to building Cambodia’s health infrastructure, including: building hospitals, sending volunteer medical teams, training Cambodian medical teams, and providing scholarships to Cambodian students, etc.

The doctor said he would make more efforts to help Cambodia in the health sector, especially in training human resources. To be a strong capital in building health infrastructure in Cambodia.
For the Ambassador, he thanked the Soonchunhyang Hospital family who have always cooperated with the Embassy in many humanitarian activities both in Cambodia and Korea, such as donating medicines and supplies to refugees, orphanages and hospitals in Cambodia, and providing free health check-ups to Cambodian citizens in Cambodia as well as in various regions in Korea.

He believes that through the signing of this MOU, the two institutions will be able to increase closer cooperation on other humanitarian projects in the future for the benefit of the people of both countries.
