Trade volume between Cambodia and China increases

Phnom Penh: Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, said that as of the end of the first quarter of 2026, the trade volume between Cambodia and China has increased significantly.

During a working meeting with Ms. Sun Meijun, Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Aun Pornmoniroth discussed the current socio-economic situation in Cambodia and the urgent and priority measures recently introduced by the Royal Government in relation to the work of Cambodian customs and excise to strengthen the efficiency of revenue collection, meet the needs, ensure sustainability and balance of daily life of Cambodian people, etc. 

He said that, as of the end of the first quarter of 2026, under the framework of the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement, the volume of Cambodia-China trade has increased significantly. 

For the Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China also emphasized efforts to facilitate procedures for importing agricultural products from Cambodia to the Chinese market by encouraging the export of agricultural products such as bananas and durians from Cambodia to China more and more, and requested Cambodia to accelerate the connection of the single-window system and the electronic exchange of origin data of goods and support the cooperation of its intelligent customs administration to achieve mutual results and benefits in accelerating and facilitating trade between the two countries.
