Takeo: Mr. Wei Samnang, Governor of Takeo Province and Chairman of the Provincial Administration Unity Command, has instructed officers stationed at all Vietnamese border gates in Takeo Province to pay attention to strengthening and increasing inspections of all types of goods imported from Vietnam to Cambodia through the Takeo Provincial Gate.
Speaking before the provincial council and departments and branches around the province on the occasion of the Takeo Provincial Council meeting on June 8, 2026 at the Takeo Provincial Administration Hall, Mr. Wei Samnang, Governor of Takeo Province, said that the Phnom Den International Gate and other gates in Takeo Province are important economic gateways for the exchange of goods between Cambodia and Vietnam, with hundreds of all kinds of goods passing through every day. In this regard, local authorities, especially customs officers, must strictly inspect all kinds of goods before importing them for sale in markets in Takeo Province and other provinces, to ensure the quality of goods and high safety for consumers.
The Governor of Takeo Province emphasized that if any official conspires with traders to import goods illegally, they will be fined and punished according to the law in force.
Seizing the opportunity, Mr. Wei Samnang also instructed city, district, and commune authorities to create easier conditions for foreign investors, while the provincial authorities are working hard to attract more investors to Takeo Province to create job opportunities for local people, improve the socio-economic status of families, and reduce poverty. and their migration as well.
