Kampot: Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in Charge of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) and President of the Techo Farmers Network Association, on June 8, 2026, met with farmers in Angkor Chey District, Kampot Province.

On this occasion, Mr. Chan Tha, Deputy Governor of Kampot Province, and Mr. Muong Noeun, Governor of Angkor Chey District, were also invited to participate, as well as district administration officials, district police chiefs, district military police, specialized offices around the district, officials from the district’s Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Office, commune chiefs, agricultural officials, and approximately 300 farmers from Angkor Chey District, province.

During this talk, Dr. Dangpham urged farmers from communes in Angkor Chey district to consider traditional farming practices that use a lot of manpower and spend a lot of time in increasing agricultural products by looking at modern farming technologies that help facilitate modern farming and can save time in increasing agricultural products.

In addition, the doctor provided input to farmers on challenges and solutions that could enable farmers to profit from farming. The challenges that farmers often face are the problem of capital for agricultural production or products, technical problems in production or animal husbandry, the problem of increasing yields and the lack of markets for sales. This problem should be considered by farmers in advance by market demand. Another big challenge is that farmers do not consider their production costs, which determine the farmers’ losses or profits in farming.

Finally, Dr. Kao Thach called on farmers to join the Techo Farmers Network Association, which was established to serve farmers. The association will serve as: (1) a bridge to find financial sources, access to new techniques and information, relay the voices and concerns of farmers to leaders, and serve as a bridge to other opportunities; and (2) an umbrella or shield for farmers, that is, to protect the rights or legality of farmers or protect them from abuse and exploitation.
