Nearly 5,000 former workers received the opportunity to prove their skills for free to enhance job opportunities both domestically and abroad.

Phnom Penh: Nearly 5,000 former workers returning from Thailand have received the opportunity to take the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) test free of charge from the Royal Government to receive official certificates, increasing job opportunities and better income.

This was stated by Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, who spoke at the 9th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day 2026 under the theme “TVET provides skills, jobs and income” at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center on June 15, 2026, under the high chairmanship of His Excellency Samdech Maha Vajiralongkorn Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Minister stated that “as of June 13, 2026, 4,912 former workers returning from Thailand have registered to participate in the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, while 3,880 former workers have passed the proficiency test in eight skills in the construction sector.”

According to the Minister, the official certificate obtained from the previous competency assessment test will be an important bridge in increasing job opportunities, receiving decent wages, and making it easier for former workers to find jobs both domestically and abroad.

Please note that the above results reflect the success of the government’s skills development policy, which not only provides free training opportunities, but also recognizes the experience and skills that workers already have. To become a formal qualification that is also valuable in the job market.
