Phnom Penh: Royal Government Spokesperson Pen Bona said that Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen will exchange views on regional and international issues with leaders from other countries in Russia on the occasion of his participation in the ASEAN-Russia Anniversary Summit.
In a statement on the Cambodia-Thailand border situation on June 16, 2026, Royal Government Spokesperson Pen Bona said that the King will lead a high-level delegation to attend the ASEAN-Russia Anniversary Summit to celebrate the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Partnership from June 17-18, 2026 in Kazan, Russian Federation, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation.
The Royal Government Spokesperson stated that “the leaders will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern to contribute to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond.” .
According to Mr. Pen Bona, the Prime Minister will also attend other side events and have a number of bilateral meetings to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as promote cooperation in areas of common interest and mutual benefit.
The spokesperson emphasized that this is another diplomatic mission abroad, following the official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the invitation to attend the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi on June 8-9, which demonstrates the Prime Minister’s active diplomatic work to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation with friendly countries and to protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and people on the international stage.
The President will exchange views with other leaders on regional and international issues.
