Phnom Penh: Young Hieng Sokunthy, a 5th year electrical engineering student at the Prakosom Polytechnic Institute (PPI) of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, brought the works he created after studying theory and practical work in school to be exhibited at the 9th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Day on June 15-16, 2026.

Young man Heang Sokunthy said that the lessons learned in the school were up-to-date, especially the direct application through practical exercises in addition to theory. The young man said, “Actually, we studied the theory, it made us understand some things, then we implemented it with our own projects, which made us understand more clearly until we were able to produce a machine that we call “automatic steel tying robot”.

With the exciting display, the young man spent nearly a month installing the mechanical system, design, and brain of this machine, hoping that the machine, which is the result of his work, will help industrial factories or other businesses to be modern and modern in promoting the TVET sector in Cambodia.

Mr. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, continues to encourage all students and youth to be careful in choosing their academic skills to pursue a future career, receive clear skills training, save time, meet labor market needs, easily find work, and be self-employed, earn a decent income, and be able to free themselves and their families from poverty and vulnerability.
