New York: US President Donald Trump said US forces have intercepted and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship that was trying to evade a blockade in the Gulf of Oman.
“Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship, the TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, attempted to bypass our naval blockade and it didn’t go well for them,” Donald Trump wrote in a message on his Truth Social media account.
Trump added that a US destroyer intercepted the TOUSKA in the Gulf of Oman and “gave them a fair warning to stop.” “The Iranian crew refused to listen, so our navy ship stopped them immediately by blowing up the engine room. Now the US Marines have the right to take possession of the ship.”
According to the latest news reports, Iran attacked the US military ship in retaliation for the US seizure of its ship.
