Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has banned the use, distribution, trading and advertising of electronic cigarettes and e-cigarettes in and around educational institutions, dormitories, community learning centers, workplaces, gyms, sports venues, sports training venues and sports competition venues.
According to the Ministry of Education’s instructions on April 9, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports would like to advise the leaders of subordinate units, heads of the Departments of Education, Youth and Sports of the capital and provinces, heads of the Education, Youth and Sports Offices of the municipal, district and khan administrations, directors of public and private educational institutions at all levels, directors of teacher training institutions, managers of dormitories, community learning centers, gyms, sports venues, sports training venues and sports competition venues to prepare and implement comprehensive educational programs in all forms about the effects of using electronic cigarettes and e-cigarettes on educational personnel. Academics, athletes, and the public.
The Ministry continued to cooperate with parents or guardians, educational staff, academics, and all stakeholders to identify the perpetrators and locations of distribution or trade of electronic cigarettes and e-cigarette products, and report them to the competent authorities for timely prevention and implementation of measures in accordance with applicable laws.
