Prey Veng: Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, Minister of the Ministry of Interior and Head of the Royal Government Working Group in Prey Veng Province, told workers to be careful of extremist groups that lure them into joining other movements and to be on high alert for fraud and illegal activities.

The announcement was made during the Deputy Prime Minister’s invitation to preside over a meeting and solidarity dinner with workers, factories, and enterprises on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day on May 1, 2026, at Orin Manufacturing (Khmer) Company, Kamchay Mer District, Prey Veng Province.

The Deputy Prime Minister also recommended that all owners of companies, factories, enterprises and workers focus on strengthening harmony in the workplace by encouraging employers and workers to work together to create a family-like environment with understanding and good security. All parties must respect labor laws and resolve disputes through peaceful conciliation mechanisms to maintain production stability. Workers must develop skills and adopt new technologies, while employers and the state continue to promote the digital system.

In addition, he also recommended paying attention to welfare and safety by cracking down on drugs and gambling and promoting workers’ health.

The Deputy Prime Minister said, “Officials at all levels must continue to regularly visit the localities, listen to and solve citizens’ problems with a spirit of solidarity, while workers must be careful of extremist groups, attract them to join other movements, and be on high alert for fraud and illegal activities. In case of suspicion, report to the nearest local authorities or authorities.”
