Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has instructed the Ministry of Information to strengthen information diplomacy through all work mechanisms to seize opportunities to connect journalists in the country with journalists in the region and around the world.
In a message from Prime Minister Hun Sen on the occasion of the 33rd World Press Freedom Day under the theme “Building a Peaceful Future” on May 3, on behalf of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Information to continue preparing more laws and legal documents to strengthen the media order and ensure the security and safety of information.
The Prime Minister emphasized that “Please continue to focus on building the skills and legal understanding of journalists registered with the Ministry of Information. Strengthen information diplomacy through all work mechanisms “To seize the opportunity to connect journalists in the country with journalists in the region and around the world.”
The King added that he would promote monitoring, evaluating and responding in a timely manner to distorted information, truth and fake news, and continue to monitor, monitor and take legal action against some corrupt individuals who, under the guise of journalism, commit acts of intimidation that harm the honor and dignity of media institutions and professional journalists.
