Phnom Penh: Samdech Thep Thaug Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, said that the working group of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Economy and Finance is studying to prepare to pay salaries to all soldiers through the banking system.
During his inauguration ceremony for the 19th Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Day on the morning of May 15, 2026 at the Koh Pich Theater, Samdech Thep Thaug Hun Sen said that reforms must strengthen governance in management, while strengthening the management of the army is pushing down, and management measures must be taken.
The Prime Minister said, “We have thought a lot, and among them is paying salaries through banks. The working group of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Finance is studying to prepare to pay salaries to all soldiers. “In terms of the banking system, we have done this, not just by setting policies, we do it.”
In addition, the King also emphasized that all matters must ensure a balance between transparency and management efficiency and military secrecy.
