Preah Vihear: The Preah Vihear provincial administration would like to inform the public, citizens, and journalists that regarding the implementation of the “land identification” in the area along the new road connecting Kralapea village, Pring Thom commune, to the Sa Malis area, Teuk Krueng commune, Choam Ksan district, which has recently been raised and protested by some citizens, the provincial authorities would like to clearly state that this implementation is carried out for the important purpose of ensuring the common interests of the citizens, protecting natural resources, and preserving forest resources for future generations.

The provincial administration stated that this land identification is a data extraction and determination of the actual status of people’s livelihoods, focusing on recording the number of families, land size, and types of crops that are actually being grown. This work aims to help authorities have a clear database for managing and resolving land-related issues in a transparent and fair manner, and to ensure that people who actually depend on the land can continue to engage in sustainable livelihoods.

At the same time, the implementation also aims to protect and conserve natural resources by preventing illegal logging activities in protected forests that affect the environment. And contrary to the provisions of the law and the royal decrees. Provincial authorities have expressed concern that without proper management, it could lead to serious loss of forests and natural resources, affecting the ecosystem and livelihoods of people in the area.
