Minister Huot Hak will attend the 3rd Cambodia-Haiku Cultural and Tourism Exchange Day 2026 in China.

Phnom Penh: Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, will lead a delegation from the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism and the Cambodian tourism private sector to participate in the “3rd Cambodia-Haiku Cultural and Tourism Exchange Day 2026” and related programs from May 20 to 24, 2026 in Haikou, Hainan Province, People’s Republic of China.

According to a notice from the Ministry of Tourism, the “3rd Cambodia-Haiku Cultural and Tourism Exchange Day 2026” event is organized with the aim of promoting Cambodia’s rich tourism and culture to the Chinese people. The event will be held on Haikou’s famous Qilou Promenade, which attracts tens of thousands of tourists every day, with performances of ancient and contemporary Cambodian-Chinese arts and exhibitions of Cambodian products.

In addition, the Minister will also attend the Cambodia Tourism Roadshow and the promotion of the visa-free policy for Chinese people, which is organized to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and the pilot implementation of the visa-free policy for Chinese tourists visiting Cambodia, which will be implemented in June 2026, to Chinese tour operators in Hainan Province, so that they can understand and prepare tour packages to Cambodia in a timely manner, as well as establish business relationships with the private sector and the Cambodian tourism industry, which will also participate in the program. The program is expected to attract more than 200 participants from major tourism companies in Hainan Province and Chinese tour operators.

Taking the opportunity to attend the event, the Minister will hold bilateral discussions with the Governor of Hainan Province, the Governor of Haikou City, the Governor of Sanya City, the Tourism Association and major tourism companies in Hainan Province to strengthen cooperation and further promote the flow of Chinese tourists to Cambodia.
