Kampong Cham Provincial Governor invites to inspect fire incident at residents’ homes in Kampong Siem District

Kampong Cham: Kampong Cham Provincial Governor Mr. Un Chanda on May 25, 2026, visited and helped to extinguish a fire in Andong Chro Village, Ampil Commune, Kampong Siem District, Kampong Cham Province.

According to police officers from the Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Office of the Kampong Cham Provincial Police, at 8:50 a.m. on the day of the incident, the Ampil Administrative Police Station received information from residents reporting a house fire. After receiving the information, Major General Heng Vuthy, the police chief of Kampong Cham province, ordered the police chief of Kampong Siem district to immediately respond to the scene, with the assistance of the administrative police and the civil defense.

The same official said that the fire was 100% extinguished at 9:40 a.m. With the intervention force of Kampong Siem District, the administrative police station and the people’s defense force, they helped to extinguish the fire.

Expert officials confirmed that in the case of the above fire, the authorities used 6 fire engines, including 3 fire engines from the Kampong Cham Provincial Police Department and 2 fire engines from the Kampong Siem District Police Department. and a fire truck from the Prey Chhor District Police Department, which used 12 tanks of water.

The authorities also said that the first homeowner, Som Pich, a 63-year-old male, suffered damage to his house measuring 6 x 12 meters.

The fire then spread to two neighboring homes, the second homeowner, Soeng Srey, a 53-year-old female, damaged a house measuring 7 x 12 meters and the third homeowner, Aok Saro, a 72-year-old female, damaged a house measuring 4 x 5 meters (a 1-meter wall was burned).

In the above case, the homeowner lost some money and documents and injured one homeowner (minor injuries) .
