Phnom Penh: Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Dr. SHAHARUDDIN ONN, Malaysian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on May 24, 2026, were invited to attend the “Malaysia Travel and Shopping Fair 2026” with the participation of travel agencies, airlines, the Malaysian Health Council, and many other Malaysian companies. The 2026 Malaysia Travel and Shopping Fair will be held for two days from May 23-24, 2026. AEON Mall Phnom Penh or AEON 1.
The Minister said that the tourism sector is inseparable from peace, security, political and social stability, as well as international cooperation with friendly countries to promote travel, exchange of people, investors, travelers and tourists, as well as air connections to Cambodia from all parts of the world. And this sector is a priority sector and an important economic pillar of the Royal Government of Cambodia in promoting economic growth and improving the livelihood of the people in accordance with the Pentagon Strategy – Phase 1 of the Royal Government of Cambodia under the correct and wise leadership.
At the same time, the Minister also highlighted the Visit Cambodia campaign during the green season from May to October 2026, which offers unique tourism experiences, beautiful greenery and a cool atmosphere. With many special benefits, in line with the slogan “6 Musts” including Must See, Must Stay, Must Taste, Must Visit, Must Try and Must Buy.
The event also organized many programs to provide Malaysian cultural experiences to the public, including a Malaysian clothing display, a Malaysian cooking demonstration, art performances by Malaysian artists, free Malaysian Batik painting, booths displaying products and services of Cambodian and Malaysian companies, lucky draws to win many prizes, including plane tickets, as well as providing information on tours and medical services in Malaysia. These events are expected to contribute significantly to promoting cultural exchange, people-to-people connections, and strengthening tourism cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia to be more active, deeper, stronger, and provide maximum benefits to the people of both countries.
