Kandal: The Ministry of Interior has launched a plan to continue the campaign to clean up online scams with the goal of contributing to the complete elimination of this crime from Cambodia.
This is what Mr. Mao said Chantara, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on the occasion of the invitation to preside over the promotion of the plan on the continuation of the campaign to clean up online scams in Kandal province on May 26, 2026.
Mr. Mao Chantara The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior highlighted that the Royal Government of Cambodia has made a political decision with a clear will to clean up Cambodia by issuing strict suppression measures, especially the implementation of Order No. 01 of the Cambodian Police dated July 14, 2025, to protect security, social order, and restore Cambodia’s honor.
The Permanent Secretary of State added that, in conjunction with the initial phase of the crackdown, crimes in major locations have been reduced, restoring a better security environment. But the criminal gangs have changed their tactics and image, breaking up into small groups operating in the community, which requires the continuation of this clean-up operation to be more active and thorough to eradicate the root causes.
