Kampong Thom: The governor of Stoung district said that the infrastructure construction and many achievements in the pagoda are the result of the solidarity and high sacrifice of the Buddhist community under the pagoda. Mr. Say Kim Lom said this at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch the various achievements at Toul Preah Srei pagoda in Sampruch commune, Stoung district, Kampong Thom province on the morning of May 26, 2026.
At the same time, he further called on the Buddhist monks of the nearby and far-flung temples to continue this good culture so that the temples can flourish, especially to uphold Buddhism for 5,000 years according to the Buddha’s instructions, and to develop the temples according to a clear master plan, especially the temples that are green with natural plants and colorful gardens and a place of joy for the Buddhist monks.
At the same time, he also reminded the abbots, the abbots of all pagoda committees, and relevant professional office officials to thoroughly and clearly examine the use of individual pagoda complexes as stupas, which have hurt the feelings of Buddhists and may become anarchic construction forms. He also asked his colleagues to conduct a census of stupas in various pagodas and monasteries in the most specific manner.
In addition, he encouraged young people and students to study as hard as they can to become bamboo shoots in the context of modern technology to build a strong national economy as human capital to protect the country from further aggression. Parents and guardians must promote and encourage this study widely and continue to monitor the education of their children to become moral and virtuous people, free from shame and gangs.
