Kampot: Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in Charge of the Rural and Agricultural Development Bank and President of the Techo Farmers Network Association, on May 26, 2026, led his colleagues to pay a courtesy call on Dr. Mao Thunin, Governor of Kampot Province, to discuss the agricultural sector and development.

During the courtesy call, Dr. Mao Thunin, Governor of Kampot Provincial Government, also discussed the current state of the province’s economic growth and the improvement of people’s living standards, especially the potential in tourism, services, agriculture, animal husbandry, and seafood, which provide direct income to local farmers.

For Dr. Kao Thach, as the bank serving the government’s policy, he also shared his experience and the latest news on the agricultural sector, saying that most of our farmers in the provinces who practice agriculture face problems, whether it is rice production, vegetable cultivation, or animal husbandry. They are able to produce and do not know whether they have made a profit or a loss because they do not consider the cost of production, which is a major concern for them.

At the same time, Dr. Kao Thach said that among the many potentials of Kampot province, in addition to tourism and services, animal husbandry and cultivation of all kinds of vegetables are also a big demand for supply on the domestic market. Especially as a province bordering neighboring countries, we should not rely on imported products, but must strengthen ourselves and promote investment in the agricultural sector to improve the livelihood of citizens through local production.
