Phnom Penh: The National Election Commission (NEC) held a meeting under the chairmanship of Mr. Prach Chan, NEC Chairman, to review and decide on the minutes of the NEC meeting and the instructions on the compilation of estimated population statistics for the purpose of reviewing the voter list and registration for 2026.
In which, the NEC reviewed and discussed the documents and decided as follows:
1. Agenda 1: The NEC meeting discussed and revised some words and agreed on the minutes of the NEC meeting on May 7, 2026.
2. Agenda 2: The NEC meeting reviewed and discussed the draft instructions on the compilation of estimated population statistics for the purpose of reviewing the list and registering voters in 2026.
According to the draft, it is recommended to the Secretariat of the Capital and Provincial Elections (SEC), commune and sangkat authorities and village heads to manage the compilation of statistics and determine the number of polling stations and must fill in the following table model:
– Table of estimated population statistics in villages
– Table of population statistics in communes and sangkats
– Table of the number of voters to be removed from the voter list
– List of voters to be removed from the voter list
– Table of population statistics and polling stations affected by the invasion of Cambodian sovereignty and territorial integrity by the Thai military
– Table of the number of eligible voters who have reached the age of majority 18 years old and those who have never registered to vote in communes and villages (T. 1027 communes and villages)
-Table of the number of eligible voters who have just turned 18 years old and those who have never registered to vote in communes and villages (T. 1027 villages).
3. Other agenda items: After hearing the report of the National Election Committee’s competitive examination committee on the results of the examination held on May 31, 2026, the NEC meeting decided to agree with the report and comments of the examination committee on the results of each candidate. The results of the examination will be announced publicly at the NEC office and posted on the NEC website.
