Mondulkiri Governor inspects and promotes beautification of Sen Monorom City, preparing to receive tourists

Mondulkiri: To enhance the beauty of the city and promote more effective tourism development, Mr. Kong Kimny, Governor of Mondulkiri Province, on the morning of June 2, 2026, led experts and relevant authorities to inspect the actual situation at some important locations in Sen Monorom City.

The inspection focused on organizing a night market, a public playground, and studying solutions to water problems in the Sen Sok Dom and Sen Monorom dams, as well as improving the beauty of public places that attract tourists to Mondulkiri province.
On the occasion, the provincial governor said that Sen Monorom is the heart of Mondulkiri province’s tourism sector, with high potential in terms of nature, climate, and indigenous culture. Therefore, organizing the city to be orderly, clean, and environmentally friendly is an important factor in attracting national and international tourists.

Mr. Kong Kimny also instructed the specialized departments and local authorities to accelerate the study and implementation of measures to solve water problems in various dams to ensure beautiful scenery and sufficient water volume for entertainment and attracting tourists throughout the year.
At the same time, the provincial governor also called on all citizens and businessmen to participate in maintaining hygiene, the environment, and public order by properly disposing of garbage and respecting traffic laws to jointly make Mondulkiri a green, clean, safe, and more attractive tourist destination in the future.

Residents and business people in Sen Monorom city have expressed support for the provincial administration’s attention, hoping that improving the city’s infrastructure and beauty will help attract more tourists and increase income for local residents.
