US Finance Corporation approves $100 million to support infrastructure expansion at Techo International Airport

Phnom Penh: The United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC) on June 4, 2026 approved $100 million for the Techo International Airport project to support the expansion of the Kingdom of Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure.

According to a press release from OCIC, the main developer of Techo International Airport (KTI), the above agreement was reached after a careful assessment, including the feasibility of the project on the basis of its technical characteristics, operations, and environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA). In accordance with past legislation, a series of procedures will need to be completed, including the Senate notification process, before the financing can be secured and completed.

This significant achievement is the result of years of hard work and communication between the Canadia Group and OCIC with various U.S. institutions, including the U.S. Embassy, ​​the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, and several other U.S. companies, including General Electric, OTIS, Caterpillar, Ford, and Apple. Through business delegations, conferences, and dialogues, the companies have been working together to support the development and connectivity of Cambodia’s infrastructure.

Oknha Bandit Pung Khev Se, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Canadia Group and OCIC, welcomed the U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC) as a partner in the Techo International Airport project. This is a joint commitment between Cambodia and the United States to develop infrastructure that supports growth and enhances regional and global connectivity.

In its announcement, DFC stated that this investment will support the expansion of Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure and promote broader economic opportunities for trade, economic growth, and development. This achievement highlights DFC’s role as a partner capable of providing financial capital, expertise, and innovation to strengthen this critical infrastructure of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
