Mondulkiri: The Mondulkiri Provincial Military Police on June 5, 2026, organized a ceremony to announce the appointment of a new provincial commander under the chairmanship of General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the National Military Police.

The ceremony was attended by the leadership of Mondulkiri province, including judicial officials, armed forces, and many relevant experts.

On that occasion, Mondulkiri Provincial Governor Kong Kimny highlighted the work of the former commander and urged the new commander to continue strengthening cooperation with local authorities and relevant forces to maintain security, public order, and safety for citizens.
He also called on the forces to carry out their work transparently and avoid actions that could affect citizens’ trust.

Separately, General Sao Sokha instructed the new commander to focus on building internal unity and strictly implementing the law. He stressed that the military police must not be involved in or support any crime, especially the destruction of natural resources and online scams that are causing concern to society. He added that military police officers found to be involved in crimes will be held accountable according to military discipline and applicable laws without exception.

According to the Royal Government’s sub-decree, Brigadier General Teav Chandara has been appointed as the Commander of the Mondulkiri Provincial Military Police, replacing Brigadier General Hem Bonarel, who was transferred to a new position.
After assuming his new position, Mr. Teav Chandara vowed to obey orders from his superiors, strengthen public security and order, and promote internal unity in order to better fulfill his duties of serving the people and protecting social stability. By: Chanbot|Mondulkiri|Ampel Tree
