Phnom Penh: Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, Mr. Sun Mesa, on June 5, 2026, called on 112 former Cambodian workers who were sent from Thailand to contact the hotline 1297 to find jobs and receive comprehensive benefits.

Mr. Sun Mesa encouraged citizens to seek job opportunities in their localities and avoid illegal mining. Finding a job locally is not difficult, by contacting the hotline 1297 as well as the National Employment and Employment Agency (NEA) of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training to receive employment and career counseling.

He stated: “I would like to appeal to former Cambodian workers who have just returned from Thailand to call 1297 to find jobs and rich benefits. “Please do not go and work illegally abroad while job opportunities in our country are announced in hundreds and thousands of places every week by the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.”

Working locally now means they will receive many benefits, just like in neighboring countries, with reasonable wages compared to some countries in the region and jobs close to home. In particular, they need low expenses, which allows citizens to save a lot on their regular expenses. According to Mr. Sun Mesa.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson asked everyone to immediately stop illegally going abroad to work. In case of any incitement or coercion by a broker to go to work illegally, please report it to the authorities or local authorities immediately so that legal action can be taken against the perpetrators.
