Preah Sihanouk Province: On the afternoon of June 5, 2026, under the coordination of the Civil Society Alliance Forum, a discussion meeting between the China Foundation for Development and Peace in Cambodia and the heads of civil society organizations in Preah Sihanouk Province was held in a friendly and fruitful atmosphere to exchange views and explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation on community development work.

Mr. Sok Sokhom, head of the civil society network in Preah Sihanouk province, informed about the social, economic and practical needs of local people, especially in the fields of education, health, environment, human resource development and improving the living standards of the people. The network president also highlighted the activities and achievements of civil society organizations in Sihanoukville province and shared challenges and priorities that require additional support.

Ms. Wang Yahui The head of the China Foundation for Development and Peace Office in Cambodia expressed great interest in the work of local civil society organizations and emphasized the importance of civil society organizations’ participation in promoting sustainable and environmental development. All parties also discussed the possibility of organizing future collaborative projects to respond to the needs of the community and contribute to the further development of Sihanoukville.

With guidance from His Excellency Kemroth Viseth, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil Society Alliance Forum, Mr. Soung Huot, Deputy Director of the Department of Public Relations and International Cooperation It was assessed that the afternoon meeting reflected the good relationship and cooperative spirit between the China Foundation for Development and Peace in Cambodia and civil society in Preah Sihanouk province, which will serve as a basis for implementing future joint activities aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of local people.
