Phnom Penh: Mr. Tep Asnarith, Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Information, has given instructions and encouraged leaders and information officers of the Kampong Cham Provincial Information Department to increase their attention and creativity in producing more attractive content, especially tailored to the preferences of young people, to spread education about the dangers of fake news.

His statement was made during an orientation meeting On public information work and the implementation of the second phase of the Say No to Fake News campaign of the Kampong Cham Provincial Information Department on June 5, 2026.

The spokesperson emphasized that the production of digital content today needs to keep pace with technological developments and adapt to the preferences of the youth, who are the most active users of social media. The main purpose of creating these attractive and creative content is to expand the scope of public awareness and education about the serious impacts and dangers of fake news in society.
Mr. Tep Asnarith added that by changing the format of content production to be lively, it will help educational messages and true information to reach the youth easily and effectively, which is a strong shield in preventing the spread of false information in the community.
Mr. Tep Asnarith also encouraged all information officers to continue to develop additional capabilities in technical work and the creation of new content formats to ensure that true and useful information can reach all levels of society widely.

On that occasion, Mr. Chea Krouch, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Information, said that information and public opinion work is the core mechanism of the Royal Government of Cambodia in managing digital information. Collect opinions and disseminate policies to citizens. This mechanism plays an important role in preventing and neutralizing fake news and increasing public trust in public administration.

‎Ms. Sam Phalla, Head of the Kampong Cham Provincial Information Department, accepted this recommendation and will work hard to increase creativity in producing new content to attract young people and disseminate education about the dangers of fake news more effectively.
