Battambang: In a spirit of high concern for the livelihood of the people, the Forum for Employment, Social Security and Vocational Training under the theme “Khmer people help find jobs and provide jobs for Khmer people” continued to bring 9,490 job opportunities with the benefits of the B.S.C. and TVET programs for local people, especially for former workers from Thailand and young people looking for jobs, at the Sangke High School campus, Sangke District, Battambang Province on the morning of June 6, 2026.

In the ceremony attended by nearly 700 people, Mr. San Kimhong, Undersecretary of State The representative of Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, said that the current 9,000 jobs are among the 90,000 job opportunities across the country that the Ministry of Labor is working hard to collect and bring these large companies, factories, and enterprises to promote to the local community so that everyone can register, interview, and get a job immediately. Currently, local jobs are abundant, and bringing them to the base saves both money and time for you, especially former workers from Thailand, who receive high attention from the government through the Ministry of Labor from the moment they return to the border.

He emphasized that These jobs are valuable opportunities for those who want to build a life in their hometown in Battambang province or in other provinces, especially in Phnom Penh. His Excellency explained that migrant work in Thailand faces safety risks, labor exploitation, lack of health care, discrimination, and the inability to live with family. Meanwhile, domestic work is a better option for building the economy and providing happiness in the family, as well as many benefits, especially from the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), such as: occupational risks, health care, and retirement, which is considered a safety net. Pregnant women also receive maternal and infant care, receiving multiple benefits from pregnancy to childbirth and paid leave.

In the case of wanting to work abroad, the Undersecretary of State encouraged former workers to register to work in other countries that offer higher salaries and security than Thailand, such as Japan, Korea, and Singapore. In addition, former workers and youth can also enroll in technical skills training courses through the 1.5 million TVET program with many study options such as: construction, machinery repair, electrical equipment, air conditioning, baking, coffee making, and salon, etc. His Excellency highlighted that studying is not expensive and even provides knowledge that can be used to create your own business.
