Phnom Penh: On June 8, 2026, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, through the Labor Market Information Department of the General Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, organized a press conference on the 9th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day on June 15-16, 2026 under the theme “TVET provides skills, jobs and income” at the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training Office, held at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center (Buildings G, H, I, J, K, L). At the same time, there were also preparations in provinces across the country.

Mr. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, said that the 9th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day 2026 at the national level (Phnom Penh) plans to have approximately 100 participating units demonstrate the development of the technical and vocational education and training sector and production chains from the private sector. On this National Day, the Ministry will organize an exhibition of progress in the field of technical and vocational education and training, with the participation of ministries, institutions, educational institutions, the private sector, development partners and related sectors, as well as presentations, sharing experiences from famous speakers and important programs.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training said that this year’s National Day of Technical and Vocational Education and Training is under the theme “TVET Providing Skills, Jobs and Income” aims to highlight the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) not as a second option, but as the primary option for young people who want to succeed in life in the short term, sustainably, environmentally and resiliently.

TVET is a bridge that transforms “labour, surplus labour” into “real skilled resources or technicians” with potential The most diverse labor market (industry) needs by contributing to improving living standards, reducing poverty, unemployment, and playing an important role in the development of the national socio-economic system now and in the future.
Mr. Hing Sidet, Director General of the General Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (GDVET) of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, said that the 9th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day 2026 was organized in 4 paragraphs, including: Paragraph 1: Talking about the background, objectives, and themes of organizing the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day Paragraph 2: Talking about the responsibilities in organizing the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day of ministries, institutions, national and sub-national administrations, and related sectors, joining in supporting and cooperating so that the organization of this National Day runs smoothly and is lively, especially encouraging all media to disseminate information to all citizens about technical and vocational education and training.
